Mrs. Lucy Halterman, wife of the late Andrew J. Halterman of Lower Strait Creek died at the home of her son-in-law & daughter Mr. & Mrs. Perry Puffenbarger, north of Monterey on Thursday morning August 12. She had been in failing health for some time her condition becoming worse two weeks ago. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William Bowers and was in her 88th year. Funeral services will be held from the Forks of Water Church, of which she was a faithful member, Sunday afternoon at two o’clock and conducted by Rev. H.E. Skelton. Burial will take place in the home cemetery. Surviving are four sons: John, Ab, Rob and Will; four daughters Mrs. Eddie Tidd, Mrs. Margaret Puffenbarger, Mrs. Bessie Harris, Mrs. Rosa Echard, all of this county. Two half brothers also survive: Howard Bowers of Crabbottom and Cam Bowers of Lower Strait Creek and other near relatives.
