John Arhelger, beloved husband, brother, step-father and friend, died March 31, 2015 at home in San Marcos, Texas after a lengthy battle with lung disease. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on June 29, 1947 to Robert (Pat) and Faye Holcomb Arhelger. He grew up in Austin, attended Travis High School, University of Texas and North Texas State University. His studies were interrupted when he enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam. John worked with Austin ISD as an electronics technician until his retirement in 2008.
He married wife Marilyn Gibbons-Arhelger in 1993. He will be missed by sister Lynn Hubertus, nephew, Bobby Hubertus, and nieces, Julie Hall and Susan Ferguson, and step-daughter, Krisha Hagler, and many dear and devoted friends.

Memorial and celebration of John’s life was held on April 26, 2015. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Meals on Wheels or the Salvation Army.
