Charles Richard (Chuck) Christensen was born March 18, 1922 in the tiny town of Mayfield.

He left this world on March 31, 2015 after living the life he chose for ninety-three years.

Chuck was one of four children born to Joseph LeRoy Christensen and Iva Larson Christensen. He graduated from Manti High School and attended Snow College.

Chuck served his county during World War II in the Navy Air Corps as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Third Class.

He met his wife, Margaret (Marty) Witcraft, while serving his country and they were married on June 23, 1945 in Coeur d `Alene, Idaho. Marty passed away on March 23, 2002 after fifty-seven years of marriage.

Chuck worked as a sheet metal mechanic for most of his life. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1976.

He was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving as president in 1981.

Chuck traveled with his wife, Marty, for many years. They loved to spend their winters on the desert and had many great friends from all of their travels.

He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt. In later years, he became an accomplished gardener and won several blue ribbons at the county fairs.

Chuck is a member of the LDS Church.

Chuck was preceded in death by his son, James Lynn; his sister, Marjorie Christiansen; his brother, LeRoy Christensen; both parents; and his wife, Marty. He is survived by his sister, Geraldine Rowland of Dexter, Georgia. He is also survived by his son, Carl Christensen (Joey), Yuma, Arizona; daughter, JoAnn Christensen, Tooele; and son, Brent Christensen (Becky), Moab. A special thank you to the Grand County Hospice, Moab, and the Veteran Administration Community Nursing Center, Grand Junction, Colorado, for all of their great care and support during Chuck's last days.
