Hamilton Gray Dies In Hospital
Rites Friday For Shelby County Native
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sleeth Funeral Home for Hamilton I. Gray, 81, R.R. 5, who died at Major Hospital Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. following a year's illness.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time. Rev. C. M. Hager will officiate at the rites and burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Gray had been a lifelong resident of Shelby County. He was born in Shelby Township on May 8, 1884, the son of John H. and Julia (Stevens) Gray.
As a farmer he had conducted a number of thrashing and combining runs and had been a trucker years ago. He was a former elder and member of the board of trustees of the First Christian Church and a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau.
He married Mattie J. Hey on Dec. 26, 1906, and she died Sept. 5, 1957.
Surviving are two daughters at home, Miss Lucille D. Gray and Miss Clarice L. Gray. (Obit: Shelbyville News, Feb. 3, 1966)
