Personal: She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth H. Frey; he passed away in 1992. She was employed as a waitress and bartender at various establishments in the Lehigh Valley. Sharon was an excellent baker who was well known for her delicious cookies, pies, and whiskey cakes that she made for family and friends at holiday times. Memberships: She was baptized, confirmed and attended Schoeneck Moravian Church, Nazareth. She was a member of the Nazareth V.F.W., the Jacksonian Club, and East Lawn Volunteer Fire Co., all in Nazareth; Heights Athletic Association, Grover Cleveland Democratic Association, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of Bethlehem, and the Bath Fire Company, Bath.
Survivors: Five devoted step-children, three step-sons: John and his wife Debbie, Charles, Sr. and his wife Cindy, and Timothy Frey and his wife Theresa, two step-daughters: Dr. Sharon Frey and companion Dan Hayes, and Linda Jones and her husband Jake; brother Ronald Kessler; sister Linda Berger MacDonough; Aunt Catherine Kostenbader; Uncle Stanley Bender; five step-grandchildren: Emily, Erin, Chuck, Jr., Jennifer, and Hannah; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Family members Dale Bender, Jennie Berger, Jean Samus, and Marilyn Pettis preceded her in death.
Services: A service to celebrate the life of Sharon E. Frey will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the Geo. G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, Village of Moorestown, Bath, PA 18014. Viewing will be held 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be private at Hope Cemetery, Hecktown.
