Funeral services for Hallie Joe Hutto, 83, of Waynesboro, MS will be held 2 PM Monday, April 6, 2015, from the First Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Smith and friends, Frank Johnston, Larry Gandy and Johnny Walker officiating. Internment will follow at Serenity Gardens.

Born in Clara, MS, December 29, 1931, Mr. Hutto was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro where he served in several capacities. He died on April 3, 2015, in his home in Waynesboro under the care of family and Wayne General Hospital Home Health and Hospice.

Upon receiving a Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1955, Mr. Hutto was employed by the Clarke and Wayne County School Systems as a teacher and coach until 1968. He then joined the firm, North Pacific Lumber Company, where he enjoyed a successful career as assistant sales manager of the company's Southern Division and a Vice President of the Portland, Oregon based company. Upon his retirement in 1993, he joined the Mississippi Seniors' Golf Association, serving as Vice President and Scorekeeper for twelve years. He and his wife, Wanda, enjoyed meeting new friends, traveling and playing golf with this group.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Satcher Hutto, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Mark Killens of Newton, MS and Daina and Kent Cooley of Brandon, MS, one sister, Elizabeth Davis of Ellisville, MS, one brother, Douglas Hutto and wife Marilyn of Buckatunna, MS, a grandson and fiancée, Blake Revette and Kaitlyn Griffith of Hattiesburg, MS.

Mr. Hutto was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing and hunting at his camp on the Chickasawhay River. He was a lifelong fan of Mississippi State football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hallie Magee and Bettie Douglas Hutto and a sister Bessie Ruth Hutto.
