Dwayne V. Cox 91, of Fairfield, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas to James Clayton and Neva Scott Cox. Dwayne was a farmer and rancher who moved to Ocala in 1961 from Miami, FL. He was a WW II US Army Veteran serving in the Philippines. Dwayne enjoyed woodworking and model building. He and friend Warren Otto built their own sailboat and sailed it on the St. John’s River out of Palatka. Dwayne was predeceased by his brother JC Cox. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Lucia E Cox, daughter Carolyn (Jonathan) Freier of Titusville, FL; and grandchildren Rachel and Kaitlyn Freier. Dwayne also leaves many close friends. Visitation will begin 10:00 am Tuesday, April 7, 2015 with funeral ceremony starting at 11:00. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be made to The Legacy House, 9505 SW 110th St. Ocala, FL 34481.
