Master Sgt. Thomas A. Wallsmith of Carthage, Missouri graduated from high school in 1985 and he worked a couple of years at the IGA grocery store in Carthage. He went into the Army in January of 1987. He always tried to see the good side in any situation, making him a great mentor. When Thomas came home for two weeks in September, he finally got to ride the Harley-Davidson motorcycle that he had bought and had pined for while in Iraq. He is survived by his wife, the former Brenda Greenfield; his children, Lauren and Nathaniel; his father, Thomas David Wallsmith and his wife, Carol and his mother, Mrs. Patricia Vento and her husband, Bennie; his brother, Joel. He was 38.
