Paula passed away peacefully in her daughter's home on Saturday, March 28, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife and mother of three children, Beverly (Edward) Grooman, Jerry (Bonnie) Cook and Richard Cook, and was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Cook, Sr (Chief).
She was an active member of Creekside Church's women's group who assisted in a variety of services for the congregation. She and her husband traveled to rural churches with their trailer and assisted in building or rebuilding churches. They loved to travel for pleasure and were able to enjoy an assortment of cruises throughout the western hemisphere. She always enjoyed helping her children and her Grandchildren, of whom she had eight, with cooking and projects that they might have for school. She also had thirteen Great Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren (With one on the way). She has three living immediate family members, Floyd (Juanita) and Ed Meahan.
A "Viewing" will be held on Tuesday, April 7th, between 5 pm and 8 pm at the Creekside Church Chapel in Martinez. The Memorial Service will be held the following day, April 8th, in the Sanctuary at 11 am with internment following at Memory Gardens in Concord.
