Melbourne, 17th June.
An inquiry into the death of William Laffan, railway guard, who, whilst coupling tracks at the Hawthorn railway station on the 20th ult., was knocked down and run over as the result of another train, colliding with his one on which he was engaged, was opened at the morgue this morning by the city coroner, Mr. Candler ... Thomas Laffan, storeman, living at Tanner street, Richmond, identified deceased as his brother. He was 32 years of age, and living in Brick-street, Richmond.
