Kenneth Eugene and Cheryl Ann Saunders Hall Petersen died in an airplane accident in McCornick, Millard, Utah. They were married July 27, 1982 in Plain City, Weber, Utah.

Kenneth Eugene Petersen, age 33, was born March 24, 1949, in Salt Lake City, a son of Robert Coats and Betty Irene Burt Petersen. Graduated from Granger High School. Served an LDS mission to the New England States. Active in young special interest group. Active in Civil Air Patrol. Loved outdoors and hunting. Always a life of building and accomplishing. Employed by Kennecott Copper Corporation.

Survived by: son and two stepsons: Brian Petersen, Edward Dean and Richard Blake Hall; parents, Granger; grandparents: Mrs. William (Bessie) Madill, Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Gilmour Burt, Murray; brother and sisters: Elder Clint Petersen, serving an LDS mission in Washington DC; Mrs. John F. (Jan) Forsey, Mrs. Jerry (Jill) Mangus, Mrs. Doug (Robyn) Crump, Mrs. Kirk (Sandra) Nielson; relatives and many, many friends.

Ken will be sorely missed by many. Ken died with his wife doing one of the things he loved most, flying.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:30am, Granger 3rd Ward Chapel, 2820 West 3590 South. Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd., and Wednesday at the church, 8:30 until time of services. Interment, Taylorsville Memorial Park.

Cheryl Ann Saunders Hall Petersen, age 27, was born November 28, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Lawrence David and Alice Cheney Saunders. Married Harold Dean Hall, January 30, 1975 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died August 3, 1977. She married Kenneth Eugene Petersen on July 27, 1982, in Plain City, Utah. Born and raised in Ogden. Graduated from Weber High School. Attended Ricks College and Weber State College where she majored in early childhood education. She served as a “candy striper” at McKay-Dee Hospital and worked at Primary Childrens' Hospital in Salt Lake City. Active in the LDS Church, she taught Primary, Mutual and Sunday School, and served as the stake young special interest leader.

Survivors: two sons and one stepson: Edward Dean and Richard Blake Hall, Plain City, and Brian Petersen, Granger; parents, Lawrence David and Alice Cheney Saunders, Harrisville; six sisters and two brothers: Darla Dee Saunders, Mrs. Bob (Karen) Bartruff, Mrs. Scott (Alene) Chambers, Mary Alice Saunders, and Dean Saunders, all of Harrisville; David Lynn Saunders, Liberty; Mrs. Brett (Sheila) Lewis, Eden; Mrs. Terrel (Jeneen) Gardner, Las Vegas; grandmother, Carrie Alene Cheney Kirby, Garland, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2pm, Plain City 5th Ward, 2300 North 2350 West, Plain City, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8pm, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd. and Wednesday, at the chapel, 1-2pm. Interment, Plain City Cemetery, Plain City, Utah.
