During WWII, PFC Liebrich was a member of Co. I, 309th Infantry, 78th Division and served in the European Theater.

Robert E. Liebrich passed away at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (DeNuccio) for 56 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of George A. and Lillian (Leicht) Liebrich.

Bob worked as an inventory specialist at Quonset Point Naval Air Station. He was also a decorated Army veteran in WWII and was a recipient of a purple heart. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Barbara E. Spencer of Warwick, his son James E. and his wife Linda Liebrich of Cranston and his precious grandchildren whom he loved with all of his heart. He is also survived by his sister Ann L. Hayes and his niece and nephew and their families. Bob was predeceased by his siblings Barbara E., George A., Jr. and Jean Liebrich. He was the brother-in-law of Elizabeth Marot and the late Brig. General William J. DeNuccio.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 11:00am in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. Friends and Family are invited to pay their respects beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
