Jonathan married Nancy Rogers McLean on 14 Oct 1815 in Hardin county, Kentucky. Nancy is the daughter of Jesse Rogers and his wife whose maiden name was Green. Previously Nancy Rogers had married Lenoard McLean in 1810, and had a daughter, Sarah (1810-1896). However, Mr. McLean died in 1812. Jonathan and Nancy Rogers West had seven sons and two daughters:
