Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hansen Chapel, for Mrs. M. R. (Mary) Dimmett, 85, of route 5, Marshfield, who was pronounced dead of complications on arrival at St. Joseph's Hospital at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday.
The Rev. Raymond Bornbach, pastor of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Hewitt, will officiate and burial will be made in the Mound cemetery. Friends may call at the Hansen Chapel Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday.
The former Mary Delia Platts was born Feb. 18, 1887 in Scottsboro, Ala. She moved to Pittsville from Alabama at the age of 12 and received her education in Pittsville schools. She moved to Minneapolis and was married there Jan. 15, 1916 to M. R. Dimmett who died Jan. 2, 1958. After their marriage they moved to North Dakota and farmed in New Rockford from 1916 to 1937. They moved to a farm near Pittsville and then came to rural Marshfield. She had also been employed as a practical nurse and governess in Minneapolis for 10 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Westerhausen, Marshfield; a son, Thomas, Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Adela Brosman, Beloit.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one child, three sisters and two brothers.
