Alvin David Hooper, 86, of Springdale, died on March 31, 2015.

He was born on May 7, 1928, in Witter to George Washington Russell Hooper and Daisy Angeline Bolinger Hooper.

Alvin was a Navy veteran of World War II who served aboard the USS Kermit Roosevelt.

He worked as an electrician, farmer and carpenter, and he retired from Tyson Foods.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; eight sisters; one brother; and one son, Charles Alvin Hooper.

He is survived by four children: Donna Phillips and husband Sherman of Springdale; David Hooper of Huntsville; Chris Hooper and wife Julie of Fayetteville and Lynn Gibson and husband James of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville on Saturday, April 4, with Pastor Brad Redding officiating.

A graveside service followed at Witter Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville www.brashearsfuneralhome.net.
