Joseph Edwin Wade, 92, of Georgetown, passed away at his home on March 31, 2015. Edwin lived his entire life in Andice having been born at home near Andice, Texas on July 10, 1922.

Edwin was born to Clarence Hosea and Ruby Irene (Baker) Wade who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by Georgia Windsor Wade, his grandson, Ryan Holder; brother-in-law, L.R. Smith; and sister-in-law, Christa Wade.

Helen (Kiel) Wade was his true love and they married on January 1, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.

Edwin proudly served in the Army Air Force after completing high school. He was a farmer/rancher and worked in civil service at Ft. Hood (now Cavazos), Texas, retiring after 30 years in 1980. Then, he retired again in 2010 after ranching for 65 years. He was a member of the Florence Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He held office with the Andice School Board, the Andice Cemetery Association and the Fore Cemetery Association.

Survivors include the following: Edwin's wife, Helen Wade, of Andice, Texas; daughters: Linda Johnson and her husband, Earl, of Andice, Karen Holder and her husband, Randy Lisk of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Weldon Wade of Georgetown, Texas; sister, Lillian Smith of Jarrell, Texas; grandson, Eric Johnson of Midland, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle Johnson of Manor, Texas; great-granddaughter, Emma Johnson, of San Antonio, Texas; and great-grandson, David Edwin Johnson, of San Antonio, Texas.

The following men will be honored to serve as pallbearers for Edwin: Randy Crawford, Earl Johnson, Randy Lisk, Eric Johnson, Gary Smith, David Edwin Johnson, Jack Wade, David Estlack and Curtis Brizendine.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Ramsey Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Crawford of Florence Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Andice Cemetery, Andice, Texas.
