The earthly world lost one of its free spirits with the passing of Craig Calvin Wright, who passed away unexpectedly on March 28, in Livingston, at the age of 57.

Craig was born in St. Joseph, to Vernon A Pee Wee and Rose Mary (Kirschbaum) Wright. He spent most of his school years in Maysville, Mo., and graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph.

Craigs life was an adventure from his childhood years in St Joseph, on the farm in Maysville and throughout his adult life. He worked as a private investigator, on the oil rigs in Texas, for armed gaming in Las Vegas, Nev., and later as a fossil hunter and entrepreneur in Wyoming and Montana. He loved fishing and rafting and being out in nature. He loved spending time with friends and family. He made a mean pot of pasta and he was a great story-teller. Craig and Becky were wonderful hosts to all who came to visit them in Big Sky Country.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

He is survived by: his sweetheart of 25 years, Becky Michie, of the home. He is also survived by his two children, Kandis (Rob) Fuller, Clifton, Colo., and Cory (Marion) Wright, Cortez, Colo.; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by seven siblings: Deb Wright, Sacramento, Calif., Chris Wright, Gower, Mo., Linda (Denny) Blum, Oregon, Mo., Julie (Sam) Blackwell, Cameron, Mo., Brian (Glenda) Wright, Wellington, Kan., Ace Wright, St Joseph, and Eric (Sonia) Wright, Gower; as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Not to be forgotten among his survivors are many cousins, some of whom were like brothers and sisters to him, and their children; and many dear friends.

There will be a viewing and visitation from 4-6 p.m. at the Franzen & Davis Funeral Home in Livingston today, followed immediately by a celebration of Craigs life at Whiskey Creek.

A memorial service will also be held in Missouri at a later date. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
