George Pepperrell Frost Carson was born on 15 Jun 1821 in Marbletown, Ulster Co, NY, the ninth child of Daniel Carson and Sarah Frost. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Revolutionary War Captain George Pepperrell Frost.

He married Miss Mary Polly Merrihew, daughter of David D. Merrihew and Amadilla Turner, and they had five children; John M. 29 Nov 1844, Abram Hillyer 23 Oct 1848, Edwin H. 07 May 1851, Sarah E. 09 Oct 1853, Stephen Merrihew 20 Apr 1856.

Mary Polly Merrihew died 06 Mar 1884 and is buried in Old Tongore Cemetery in Olive, Ulster Co, NY with her parents.

After Mary's death, he married Miss Catherine Wager Bush on 05 Mar 1885 at the Reformed Dutch Church in Stone Ridge, Ulster Co, NY, the daughter of William Bush and Margaret Wager. There were no children from this marriage.

George P. F. Carson served in the Civil War in The Grand Army of the Republic, 5th NY Heavy Artillery.
