WALKER Melanie Gail Walker, 67, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Waycross, Georgia. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Lemiel E Walker, Jr. and Hetty King Walker.
Melanie graduated from Ribault High School - Class of 1967, loved life and visiting thrift stores looking for hidden treasures.
Predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters: Infant Mary Ellen Walker and Cherry Jewell and a brother, Douglas Walker. Survivors include 1 sister: Alice Walker Martin (Donald Robert); 1 son: Silas J. Jaby Carter, Jr. (Debra); 1 sister-in-law: Julia Walker and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery (Gate # 5) with Dr. Terry Gore, officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the cemetery prior to the service, Peeples Family Funeral Homes is serving the family.
