Lori Sue Burns, 46, of Beloit, WI, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1968 in Beloit, WI. Lori was a 1986 graduate of F. J. Turner High School. As a very talented athlete Lori attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Kenosha on a basketball scholarship and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. She married her husband on August 10, 1991 in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beloit, WI. In 1991, Lori was employed by the School District of Janesville teaching 7th grade for 9 years and 4 years as the Learning Support teacher. During this time she received her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Elementary Education and her Educational Administration Degree from Cardinal Stritch University. Due to her illness Lori resigned after 9 years as principle of Monroe Elementary School, Janesville, WI. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lori was not only devoted to her family but also to the students whose lives she touched over her career. Through her daily blogs on CaringBridge, Lori's spirituality was an inspiration to many.
