Guests and friends are encouraged to attend a "Celebration of Life Service" held in honor of James Douglas "Doug" Ahlfield on Wednesday, April 1st, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the memorial service commencing at 11:00 AM, at the First Presbyterian Church located on Elm Street in Olney with the Reverend Beau Brown and Reverend David McNabb officiating. A light lunch reception will immediately follow the conclusion of the service. Flowers may be delivered to First Presbyterian Church prior to service time.
Doug was born in Olney on September 4th, 1957 the son of James A. and Evelyn (Runyon) Ahlfield. They survive.
Doug attended the First Presbyterian Church in Olney and taught elementary and jr. high school for 16 years of which many were in school districts in northern and central Illinois. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Doug is survived by his daughter Melissa Ahlfield, his father and mother James and Evelyn Ahlfield of Olney, 2 brothers Dan Ahlfield, and his wife Janice of Forest Lake, MN., Mike Ahlfield, and his wife Tanya of Ferdinand, IN., and 2 sisters Dorothy House, and her husband David of Golden, CO., and Margaret Sue "Peggy" Souchek, and her husband Paul of Woodstock, IL.
Charitable donations "In Memory of Doug" may be made to "Hospice of Southeastern Illinois".
