David Neil Basham, 53, of Salem, passed away March 29, 2015 at home. Neil was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie L. and CK Basham, Walter L. Taylor and Mary Lou Taylor.

Neil was a 1979 honor graduate of William Fleming High School, Roanoke and also a 2004 graduate of New England Culinary Institute, Montpelier, Vermont. Through the years he enjoyed cooking, golfing and hanging out with friends and family.

Neil is survived by his parents Melanie and Larry Basham, sisters, Deborah Basham, Roanoke, Kim (Chris) Neighbor, niece and nephew, Anna and Eric neighbor all of Chesterfield, Va. His uncle Terry (Doni) Taylor, Stephens City, Va. and many cousins.

Per the family’s request there will be no visitation or service. Please keep our family in your prayers. In lieu of flowers please pass a kindness or good word to those you meet along your life path and cherish those close to you. Or you may make a donation to the charity of your choice.
