Margaret (Maggie) Anne Pillsworth Clement Kuennen RESTON, VA - Margaret (Maggie) Anne Pillsworth Clement Kuennen, of Reston, VA, passed away on July 10 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cherished wife of Major George (Gary) G. Kuennen, she is survived by her children, William Scott Clement and Nadine M. Clement Follin; grandchildren, Michael Clement, Madeline and Grace Anne Follin, Hannah Sullivan, and Emma and Hanna Bottin; and great-grandchild, Jocelyn Sullivan. She is also survived by her brother, Philip J. Pillsworth, and his wife Mary Elizabeth, of Little Falls, NY; her stepdaughter, Mary Kuennen Bottin of San Diego, CA, and a large extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She will be missed by her many friends and colleagues.
Maggie was born and raised in Troy, New York, where she graduated from Catholic Central High School and was a member of the St. Lawrence Church. She was the daughter of the late James S. and Madeline Bocketti Pillsworth, sister of the late Madlyn Pillsworth Hussey, and widow of the late Major William (Bill) K. Clement of Troy. Maggie held a BS in computer science from the University of Rochester, and she retired from the Navy Federal Credit Union as a Senior Systems Analyst in 1998. She was a member of the St. Thomas à Beckett Catholic Church in Reston, VA, for many years, where she sang in the gospel choir and was a beloved Sunday school teacher. Maggie was a warm and loving woman who embraced everyone she met and touched many people’s lives. She loved travel, and had visited such places as Italy, Mexico, and much of the United States, as well as taking numerous cruises. She most recently made an extensive trip to the West Coast to visit family in several cities. She was an accomplished seamstress and craftswoman, making treasured gifts for family and friends throughout her life. She was also a talented singer who sang lead with the Sweet Adelines in Victor, NY, and graced church choirs in Troy, Victor, and Reston. Maggie adored children and her beloved Shih Tzu, Honey.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Friday, July 18 at the Adams-Green Funeral Home at 721 Elden Street in Herndon, VA (adamsgreen.com).
