On Saturday morning, Sept. 2, Miss Deborah Sweet died at the home of her brother, Mr. Peter Sweet, of LaGrand. She was 62 years of age and had been sick for a long time with cancer. She was born in Montgomery county, N.Y. and had made her home with her father until his death some twelve years ago and since then had lived with her brother. She was a woman of much character and many admirable qualities. She leaves three brothers, Peter, Samuel and Steven Sweet, who with a half sister, Mrs. Pettengill of Austin, were all present at the funeral which occurred on Sunday, Rev. J. M. Brown, Methodist, officiating.
