Injuries Received At Canning Factory in Milford Center Result In Death
David A. (Dick) Mitchell, aged about 70, of Milford Center, who received serious injuries, Tuesday night, when he fell into the conveyor at the Kiser & Hoe canning factory, in that place, died Thursday afternoon in a Columbus hospital from the effects of his injuries. Mr. Mitchell was born in Darby township on the farm now occupied by Gottlieb Burns. He was a son of J.C. and Nancy McCullough Mitchell, deceased. His father was one of the early settlers of Darby township. Mr. Mitchell was engaged in farming for a number of years, and was located in the west for some time. His brother, S.M. Mitchell, went to Columbus, Thursday morning and was at the bedside of his brother, when he passed away. Mr. Mitchell resided on the Milford Center road about a mile south of town for several years. Mr. Mitchell's wife died about thirteen years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Stoddard, of Allen township, and Mrs. Pearl Corbett, of Champaign county. S.M.Mitchell, engaged in the ice business in North Main street, is the last surviving member of his father's family of six children. The late Mrs. J.B. Galloway, of Marysville, was a sister of the deceased. The funeral arrangements are in charge of A.E. Mitchell & Company, of Milford Center.
