Word was received in this city Wednes-
*day morning of the death of Mrs. John
Johnson at Minneapolis. She had been
ill for several months and a few days
previous to her death underwent an
operation deemed necessary as a last
resort.
Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Garbrecht of this city and
was born in New Ulm July 10, 1889,
being the twin sister of Mrs. Otto Geisinger.
She attended the public schools
of this city and until'her marriage April
12, 1910, to John Johnson, lived here
with her parents. Following her marriage
the young couple at first took up
their residence at Sandstone, Minn., and
later removed to St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Besides her husband the deceased
leaves three small children to
mourn the loss of a loving mother. She
also leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Garbrecht of New Ulm and the
following brothers and sisters: Emil of
Minneapolis and Martin of New Ulm;
Mrs. Otto Geisinger, St. Paul; Mrs.
Arthur Penkert, New Ulm; Martha and
Gertrude still living at home.
The remains were shipped to New Ulm
Thursday and taken to the Garbrecht
home on North Franklin street.
The funeral took place last Saturday,
with short services at the house at 2 o'-
clock, followed by funeral services at the
German Lutheran church, Rev. C. J.
Albrecht officiating. Interment was
made in the Lutheran cemetery.
