Kay F. Birringer, age 68, a Newton resident, died Monday afternoon, March 30, 2015 at Countyside Manor, Sheboygan.
She was born on March 23, 1947 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ella Schroeder and Leonard Kaminski. Kay was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1965. On January 15, 1971 she married James P. Birringer at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Kay was a floral designer for Shulander's Flower Company of Manitowoc for many years. She was also a CCD teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. Kay was an avid gardener who won several awards for her floral arrangements.
Survivors include her husband: Jim Birringer, Newton; two sons: Brian Birringer, Newton, Jason Birringer, Madison; two grandchildren: Zachary and Jaiden Birringer; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Joanne and Richard Reynolds, Manitowoc, Karen and Jerry Belinski, Green Bay; one brother: Oran Kaminski and special friend Carol, Manitowoc; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert and Donna Birringer, Two Rivers and Diane and John Chianelli, Milwaukee. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law: Jackie Kaminski.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Beaudry with burial at Branch Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 until 10:45 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Countyside Manor and to Hospice Advantage for the wonderful care extended to Kay. Also, a special thank you to her niece, Katelyn, who helped care for Kay while at Countryside Manor, and to the Christian Women at St. Thomas for remembering Kay over the years
