Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Perry Chapel with Pastor Colleen Landis officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Russell was born on February 27, 1928 in New Lothrop, the son of Lloyd Sr. and Mary (Zubek) Potter. He was a 1944 graduate of Chesaning High School and served in the U. S. Army during WWII. On September 3, 1948 he married Bernice Runyan in Corunna. Russell worked for G.M, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Perry V.F.W. Post 4067.
Russell is survived by his wife Bernice, six children; Robert Potter, Sally (John) Snyder, Sheryl Wiesenborn, Ralph Potter, Randy Potter and Connie (Steve) Anderson, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brothers; Gerald (Judy) Potter and Lloyd Jr. (Shirley) Potter, sister; Mildred Hemginger, aunt Helen, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Wayne, daughter Rebecca Thompson son-in-law Bruce, three grandchildren; Jacob and Lucas Potter and Travis Bordelon, sister; Fay Timlick, brothers; Charles and Roy Potter.
