Sarah Minerva Shull, born to James Henry Shull in Indiana. Married George Washington Doss on 11 June 1847. After his death in 1862 she married George William Stevens on 23 September 1863 in Ray, Missouri. By 1880 she is a widow again. She then married Franklin Breese. By 1900 Franklin Breese is dead and she is living with her daughter and son-inlaw. All records show she died in 1903 although her headstone says she was 86 years old at death. Her grandson Henry Sylvester Canida III had been a concrete laborer in Joplin and he made her headstone out of concrete in 1913 using that date when doing the math for her age which is why she is listed as 86 instead of 76. The Doss children buried her in Joplin Missouri next to other Doss in-laws. I must assume that in her final years she was taken care of by her Doss children and the Stevens and Breese family members were absent. In 2005 her great great grandson added the steel plaque to her headstone to help re-establish her whereabouts with the later generations.d/o James Henry Shull
