Glenda M. Ellison

Funeral services for Glenda Marie Ellison, 51, of Lexington were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 24 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington. She died on April 21, 2012.

Glenda, the mother of Randi M. Revisore, 27, and Robert G. Revisore, 22, was an honor graduate of Central Holmes Academy (Class of 1978) and attended Mississippi State University and the University of Texas at Austin. After 25 years in Austin she recently returned to her childhood hometown of Lexington to live close to her parents, John Rayford and Bonnie Ellison and the rest of the Ellison family.

As many will remember, Glenda was an avid basketball player, cheerleader and track star, and in later years remained active through her daily (rigorous) walks and weight lifting. Glenda loved reading, participating in any plan her children devised, gardening, her large family, cooking, and walking her dogs.

Rev. Lyn Nations and Rev. David Farley officiated, with a eulogy given by her son-in-law to be, Pablo Hernandez. The interment was at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Glenda is survived by her children Randi Revisore (Pablo Hernandez Schmidt-Tophoff) of Houston, Texas and Robert “Bobby” Revisore of Round Rock, Texas: her parents John Rayford and Bonnie Ellison of Lexington; a brother, Mike Ellison (Julie Ellison) of Lexington; a sister Gaye Joiner (Tim Joiner) of Lexington: her three nieces, Taylor Ellison, Nicole Lindsey (Lake Lindsey) and Elizabeth Joiner; her nephew, Robert Ellison: her grand-niece, Kaylee Bethany; and her beloved dogs, Riley, Missy and Sophie. Glenda was predeceased by her little sister, Dawn Ellison Allen: and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lute S. Ellison and Mr. and Mrs. Vardaman Ables.

Pallbearers were Chad Allen, Richard Chisolm, Bob Ellison, Robert Ellison, Chuck Higdon and Jeff Higdon.

Honorary pallbearers were George Ellison, Jeff Hughes, Danny Ingold, Nelson Ware, Carter Wright, Jonathan Wright and Nathan Wright.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and (especially) to the nurses of Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson for their heartfelt care of Glenda over the past months. Glenda’s children are especially grateful to their Ganny and Aunt Gaye for their selfless attention, love and devotion to Mom in her last weeks.
