Robert Lewis Pinkerton, 72, of Catlettsburg, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Kings Daughters Medical Center with his friends and family at his side.

Robert was born March 6, 1943, in Ashland, KY., son of the late William Bryan and Bertha Young Pinkerton.

He retired from Boyd County Schools as a Custodian and worked for Craycraft Foodland. He was a member of the First Church of Macedonia in Catlettsburg.

Preceding in death are his parents, first wife, Nellie Scarberry Pinkerton, brothers, Glen Pinkerton, Clyde Pinkerton, Bill Pinkerton, Ray Pinkerton, and Arnold Pinkerton, sisters, Cecillia Saunders, Myrtle Whildin, Clotine Mozykus, and Virginia Leibee.

Left to cherish memories are his wife, Mary Thompson Pinkerton, daughter, Sue Enders, her husband Mike, of Catlettsburg, step-son, Glenn Thompson, his wife Ruth, of Catlettsburg, grandson, Michael Enders, and brother, Donald (Beatrice) Pinkerton, of Ashland, sister-in-law, Dorothy Scarberry Caskey, and a host of nieces, nephew and friends.

Funeral service to celebrate Mr. Pinkerton’s life at 11:a.m. Friday April 3, 2015, at the Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, Panola Street, Catlettsburg. Pastor Fred Chaffin and Bro. Danny Clarkson will officiate. Final rest will be in Pinkerton Cemetery, Music Branch, Ashland.
