Carl Eugne Worthy was born on June 25, 1937, in Upson County, Georgia, to the late S. T. Worthy and Laura Jones Worthy.

At an early age he confessed Christ and joined the Fellowship Baptist Church. He attended the local schools in Thomaston until he joined the United States Air Force at age seventeen. During his service years, he received numerous awards and accolades. He retired from the Air Force after his military service, he resided in Rancho Cordova, California, where he was employed with the United States Postal Service for thirty –two years. On March 17, 2015, he departed this life at the Upson Regional Medical Center. He was a devoted son, father, and brother.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and caring sister, Dr. Barbara A. Worthy of Thomaston, Georgia; a loyal and devoted son, Kelsey B. and daughter-in-law, Latazha Walker of Fairburn, Georgia; a loving and devoted companion, Yong Cha Barber and her daughter, Kimberly of Rancho Cordova, California; a loving aunt, Esther Manson of Macon, Georgia; and a loving cousin, Bessie Ellis of Thomaston, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
