Hollis Miller, 90, Bidwell, passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born on May 14, 1916, in Gallia County, son of the late James Oliver Miller and Mary Elizabeth Evans Miller. He was a United States Army World War II Veteran and was a retired employee of the Gallipolis Developmental Center with twenty-one years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #27, VFW Post #4464, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, and Morgan Bethel Baptist Church.

Hollis is survived by six children: Danny Miller, California; Ricky (Lawrecene) Miller, Bidwell; David Miller, Gallipolis; Joyce (Samuel) Morris, Gallipolis; Elizabeth (Earl) Howell, Armstrong, Missouri and Carolyn (Roger Jackson) Miller, Bidwell; fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He is preceeded in death by his wife, Gladys Miller, December 1969; two sons, Hollis Miller Jr. and Randall Miller; four brothers and seven sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 27, 2006 in the Morgan Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Bethel Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Military Graveside Rites to be conducted by Gallia County Veterans Services Organizations. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, August 26.
