Cordia L. Bowles was the third of six children born to the marriage of Leftridge Perry Bowles and Olivia Virginia Bailey.
The turn of the new century was the beginning of a very sad time for the Bowles family. On 04 Jan 1900 Cordia's older sister Virgie O. Bowles died, but then on 21 Jul 1900 a new sister Esther Mae Bowles was born.
Unfortunately, Cordia would not have an opportunity to grow up and teach her little sister all she already had learned, for on 15 Nov 1900 Cordia L. Bowles died in her second year of her short little life.
