Myron Olin "Mo" Parker passed away on February 16th, 2015 at the Denver Hospice Center. He spent the last ten days of his life surrounded by his family and friends in his home at Heather Gardens in Aurora.

Mo was born in Fallon, Nevada on July 16th, 1931 to Herbert G. Parker and Ethel Elaine (Downs) Parker. He was raised in the Fallon and Reno areas and graduated from Reno High School in 1949. Mo joined the Nevada Army National Guard in 1949 serving with the 421st Anti Aircraft Artillery battalion. Mo rose to the rank of Sargent First Class before being appointed a Warrant Officer. He served until 1959 culminating his service in the Army Reserve.

Mo married Vera Josephine Wedekind in Spark, Nevada on July 24th, 1955. They remained married until his death nearly sixty years later. Mo and Vera had four children - Betty Jo Nichols of St. Maries, ID; Daniel Joseph Parker of Sparks, Nevada; Dianne Elaine Yokum of Strasburg, Colorado; and Michael Allen Parker of Fairfax County, Virginia.

Mo was hired by Hughes Aircraft Company in 1957 and worked various assignments in California. In 1970 he was transferred to Aurora as one of the charter team members of the Aerospace Data Facility at Buckley Air Force Base where he remained until his retirement from Hughes in 1988.

Mo was an avid outdoorsman enjoying camping, boating, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed helping guide hunts for both Colorado High Guide Service and for Quint Valley Release and Shoot.

Mo was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge 156 in Aurora, where he served as the Lodge Master in 1992. He was also a member of the Shriners , the High Twelve, Denver Club No.11 and the Scottish Rite.

Mo was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Herbert Parker and sister Marjorie Van Dyke. He is survived by his wife Vera Parker of Aurora, sisters Kitty Rose and Joyce Vannucci of Reno, Nevada and brother Frank Parker of Logan, Utah. Mo is also survived by his four children, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews,cousins and other relatives.

Mo's last selfless act was to donate his body to M.D. Global LLC for medical research. When his remains are returned to his family they plan to spread his ashes at his favorite hunting spot in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area in the Colorado Rockies.

Donations can be made in Mo's memory to the Wounded Warrior Fund. The Shriners Hospital, The Denver Hospice or an agency of your choice.
