Bobbie Faye Turner Akridge, 80, of Moultrie, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Brownwood Nursing Center. Graveside rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Michael Helms officiating. Born March 19, 1929, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Woodfin Turner and Cora Bradley Turner. She was the co-owner of Akridge Garage and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold David Akridge. Surviving are one son, David Akridge and wife Patsy of Norman Park; three daughters, Rebecca A. Hammock and husband Freddie of Moultrie, Vanessa Dorminey and husband Chris of Tifton and Candice Wilkes and husband Steve of Norman Park; eight grandchildren, Melissa Akridge Tatum, Jennifer Akridge, Aimee H. Herrin, Amanda Hammock, Brandy H. Condron, Samantha Dorminey, Devin Wilkes and Brooke Wilkes; and three great-grandchildren, Baylee Tatum, Alexis Thompson and Jaden Thompson. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, March 21, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. The family may be contacted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wilkes, 1254 D.H. Alderman Road in Norman Park. Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
