Melva Ann Clingenpeel White, of Roanoke, VA., went peacefully to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Sunday, March 22, 2015. She is now healthy and has found much peace and happiness, as she has been reunited with the love of her life, Neb White; her parents, Tommy and Ethel Clingenpeel; her sisters, Isabell Thrasher and Helen Cromer; and her brothers, Lewis and Eldridge Clingenpeel.

Melva was very special, loving, sweet and had a great sense of humor. She loved collecting elephants and owls. Melva took great pride in her flowers that were so beautiful to look at as you walked up to her front door. Melva was an excellent seamstress who loved to sew clothes for herself and her two daughters. She was also a great cook who prepared many delicious meals for her family. Melva would often talk about her teenage years and her close girlfriends. They enjoyed going to dances and to Lakeside Amusement Park. Music gave Melva great joy. She adored Tina Turner, Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers, Neil Diamond and Elvis Presley. Melva enjoyed summer trips to Myrtle Beach and Cave Mountain Lake.

Her pride and joy were her children, Sheila Duiser and husband, Steve, Randall (Randy) DeMoss White and Robin Winter and husband, Don; her grandchildren, Sean Thomas Duiser and fiancée, Ariel Smith and Alena Noel and husband, Mat; and great granddaughter, Abigail. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Her children were very fortunate that they had a stay at home Mom who was always there for them.

There will be no visitation and the funeral service will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Oakey’s East Chapel, 540-977-3909. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Melva’s name to Bonsack Baptist Church, Rainbow Forest Baptist Church or the Rescue Mission Ministries of Roanoke.

Mom,
You were always a sweet and wonderful mother. You could not have been any better to us. We miss your sweet, beautiful smile and your laughter. You are our sweetheart and always will be. We love you.
Your children,
Sheila, Randy and Robin
