Fred L. Duncan, 90 of Fort Gratiot and formerly of Port Huron, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 in Blue Water Hospice Home. He was born to William and Myrtle Duncan on July 24, 1922 in Port Huron, attended the Port Huron schools, and graduated from Port Huron High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Tesoto in the South Pacific.

On April 24, 1948, Fred married Vivienne "Viv" Planck in Detroit. She passed away October 25, 1999. He later married Evelyn Zenero on January 5, 2005.

Fred was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for over 29 years, retiring in 1982. He was a long-time, active member of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church, and he was a life member of both the Charles Hammond Post 8 American Legion and the Charles Schoor Post 796 VFW.

Fred and Evelyn both volunteered at Port Huron Hospital for many years. He enjoyed working in his yard and helping his sons with their projects. He especially loved watching his grandchildren grow up.

Fred is survived by his wife, Evelyn Duncan; his three sons, Glenn (Nancy Luenn) Duncan of Seattle, WA, Gary (Cindy) Duncan of Ruby, and Tom Duncan of Ruby; his step-daughter, Marianne (Ed) Harwood of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; his six grandchildren, Matt, Barbie, Greg, Tracey & Josh Duncan, and Amanda (Brad) Foltz; three step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Bryce and Brock; four sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, JoAnne Duncan, and two half-brothers, Floyd and Gerald Bellinger.
