Zachary T. Lawrence was born in Clark county, Kentucky, June 6, 1849. He came to Missouri with his parents in the year 1855, where he lived until grown to manhood and was married to Miss Fernetta A. Bean, Feb. 25, 1875, moving to Jackson county, Kan., near Whiting in the fall of the same year, where he has since resided until his death. He died in Whiting, July 9, 1920, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 3 days. He was a charter member of the Christian church in Whiting, of which he remained a faithful member until death ... his old home church at Sugar Creek, Mo. .... He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Netawaka ... the Holton cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest. He leaves to mourn his loss, a loving wife and seven children: Mrs. Z. T. Lawrence, wife; children, Mrs. Fred May, of Holton; John W. Lawrence, deceased; R. Z. Lawrence, of Whiting;
W. M. Lawrence, of Laramie, Wyo., Miss Charlotte Lawrence, of Whiting, and H. D. Lawrence of Netawaka ..... He also leaves four brothers and two sisters, all of Missouri, except W. S. Lawrence, of Netawaka, who with his brother, Will of Missouri who was with his brother when he passed away, and all attended the funeral, besides a number of nieces and nephews from Missouri ....
