Susanna was born of Cherokee parents on the Trail of Tears. Since the Cherokee were not allowed to change their numbers after the migration had begun, she was 'given' to James and Mary Glasgow to raise, to avoid her being killed by the cavalry moving the Indians. On Jan 28, 1865, she married Joseph S Adams, and they had 7 children. She went home on Feb 1, 1909. Her grave has not been found and we are certain it is unmarked somewhere in Stewart County, TN.
