Mildred Wall (Boots) Cooler, 78 and widow of Eugene Preston Cooler Jr., passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at her home in Coosawhatchie, SC. She was born in Savannah, GA on July 1, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Ben and Eunaty Leneva Simmons Wall.
She moved to Coosawhatchie in 1945 from Pritchardville, SC. She was the Secretary from 1976 - 1994 for the Jasper County Democratic Party. She worked for six years with the Caring for Others Program on the Jasper County School Board. She served as pianist for the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church, Ridgeland Baptist Church, the Savannah River Association and was music director for the Great Swamp Baptist Church. She sang with the Savannah Symphony Chorale in 1975. She was in the Savannah Little Theatre play "Hello Dolly" in 1971 and the Armstrong College play "Hay Fever" in 1974. She was in the "Prince of Tide" movie in Beaufort, SC. She was a member of the Ridgeland Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Heyward Chapter #124. She was a LPN for 16 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda C. Wells and her husband, Bobby of Coosawhatchie, SC; two grandchildren, Ben R. Wells Sr. and Bradley E. Wells; and three great grandchildren, Benjy R. Wells Jr., Jessica Anne Wells and Preston Wells.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC with burial in the St. Luke's Cemetery, Okatie, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
