Jerry D. Hemminger, 86, of Goshen, died at his home Friday morning, March 27, 2015.

He was born October 17, 1928 in Bremen to Floyd E and Ruth (Strycker) Hemminger.

On October 17, 1948 he married Mona Lou Miner in Nappanee. She died December 2, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Carolyn) Hemminger of Muncie and Michael (Ellen) Hemminger of Goshen; two grandsons, Kevin and Jason (Nicole) Hemminger; and three great-granddaughters, Hayleigh, Kyleigh and Charleigh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and two brothers, Carlyle and Howell Hemminger.

A longtime Goshen resident, Mr. Hemminger graduated from Bremen High School in 1946 and attended Manchester College. A longtime member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren and former member of Maplecrest Country Club, Jerry was a loyal Notre Dame fan.

Jerry was a district sales manager for Western-Southern for 34 years, retiring in 1988.

In the late 70’s he enjoyed his home on Lake Wawasee. In the early 90’s he owned Par-Mor Golf Course. For the past 20 years Jerry wintered in Avon Park, Florida where he enjoyed playing golf.
