Charles Clifton, 77, of Quitman, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Tyler, Texas.

Funeral Service will held Monday at 11:00 AM at Broadview Baptist Church. There will be a visitation on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Interment will be at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery at 3:00 PM also on Monday.

Charles was born on May 7, 1937 in Sweetwater, TX to the late Charlie Monroe and Rosie Mae Rodgers Clifton. He was one of seven children growing up in Corinth, MS.

He graduated High School in Odessa, Texas in 1956.

After High School he served our country in the United States Army.

He met and married the love of his life Sandra Littlefield, in Odessa, Texas in 1956.

When he was discharged from the Army they finally settled in Abilene in 1963. He worked as a superintendent for Rose and Sons Construction for more than 30 years until his retirement.

He was very active in the Baptist church and served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, as well as many other various roles. He loved going on mission trips where he could use his carpentry talents to serve the Lord and help others.

He served as a School Board member at Lueders-Avoca and was a faithful blood donor at Meeks Blood Center for many years.

He loved woodworking, working on small engines and staying busy.

Charles is survived by his 3 sons, Keith Clifton and wife Teresa of Abilene, Kyle Clifton and wife Brenda of Odessa, Kevin Clifton and wife Anjie of Thailand; one daughter, Lisha Bosteder and husband Steven; eight grandchildren, Cassie Tunstall husband Philip, Brian Clifton and wife Taylor, Emily Martinez, Shelby Clifton, Ethan Clifton, Jonathan Clifton, Andrew White, Caleb Clifton and wife Jessica; four great grandchildren, Audry, Charlee Rose, Elizabeth, and Dixie; two sisters, Betty Mae Klann and husband Jim, and Jean Burrows; two brothers, Tommy Jack and wife Joann, Billy Wayne and wife Georgia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rosie Mae Clifton; two sisters, Charlene Parker and Rosaelee Knight.

Dad and the family would be happy for anyone in the place of sending flowers to make contributions to Helps Ministries (helpsmission.org) to support Kevin, Angie, Shelby, Ethan and Jon as they serve the LORD in Thailand.
