Enoch was the son of John Davis and Phamariah "Fanny" Farris Davis Wall. Enoch's father died when he was young, and afterwards his mother married, Drury W. Wall, Sr. Enoch was raised by his mother and step-father. His full siblings included Rebecca J. Davis, Lewis "Luke" Davis, and Elmira M. Davis King. William A. Davis and John H. Davis are two other "possible" siblings. Enoch had one half-brother, Drury W. Wall, Jr. and several step-siblings including Mary Jane Wall Farley, Joseph Wall, Henry W. Wall, William Madison "Matt" Wall, and Joel Wall. Y-DNA has confirmed that Enoch was a direct male descendant of the famous Niall of the Nine Hostages, High King of Ireland.
On 13 Apr 1859, Enoch married Nancy B. Walker, daughter of James Hanks Walker and Frances K. McDonald. Enoch and Nancy had two children. Their oldest son's name was David Manson Davis born about Jul 1861 and died sometime after 1870. Their youngest son's name is not known. He was born about 1863 and died sometime before 1870.
During the Civil War, Enoch served as private in Company B, 29th Regiment, Alabama Infantry. He was killed at the Battle of Resaca in Georgia. He is buried at the Resaca Confederate Cemetery in Resaca, Gordon County, Georgia.
After Enoch's death Nancy re-married (2) George W. Goss and (3) William T. Davidson. Nancy and William had three children whose names are not known.
