Born Jonathan Asbury Ferrel, To James Harvey Ferrel and Elizabeth Jane Ferrel 'nee Cox, at Alluwe, Cooweescoowee District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory,

He was informed while in elementry school, that the correct way to spell his last name was Farrell, instead of Ferrel. Like his ancestors.'

He was married first to Mary Jane Franklin, in 1901 at Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas.

Sometime before the 1910 Census was taken, He left Oklahoma and next that I have found him in in Turner, Blaine County, Montana in 1917.
