Rites for Soldier Hero Are To Be Announced Later

The body of Pvt. Marion E. Winkles, killed while serving his country in World War 2, will arrive in Hartselle on L and N 2 Tuesday. The body will be taken to Drinkard
s Brown Service Funeral home, where it will lie in state until Saturday at 9 a.m.

It will then be taken to the home of the parents. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Drinkard's Brown Service of Hartselle.

Military Rites Will Be Held for Soldier

Military funeral services will be held for Sgt. Marion E. Winkles today at 1 p.m. at Gum Springs, East of Hartselle. Interment will follow there, Drinkard's Brown Service of Hartselle directing.

The cortege will leave the residence at Cold Springs (Falkville 1) at noon.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Winkles, Falkville 1; one brother, W.H. Winkles, Falkville 1; two sisters, Mrs. Luther Woodruff, Falkville 1 and Mrs. Emmett Smith, Des Moines, Idaho.
