David served as a Utilityman, S.S. Angelina, U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II.

He resided in Harberson, Sussex County, Delaware prior to the war.

David was declared "Missing In Action" when the Angelina sunk by German U-618 in the Atlantic during the war.

He was posthumously awarded the Mariner's Medal and the Combat Bar with a Star!
