Mrs. Carolyn Shreve Reese, 75, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away March 26, 2015 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Home in Hendersonville, NC. Burial and services for the family Sunday, March 29 at 11 am at Shepherd Memorial Park.
Carolyn was born in Campbellsville, KY August 4, 1939, daughter of the late John Millard and Juanita Garmon Shreve. She was the sister of the late Randall Shreve. Carolyn was a graduate of Campbellsville HS, and Western Kentucky University, where she majored in elementary education, played flute, and was a twirler in the band. Her passion was teaching children in elementary schools in Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina. She taught twirling and developed many championship majorette squads and color guards. She loved books, gardening, and researching family history. She was a caregiver to many.
Carolyn resided in Hendersonville, NC with her husband, William R. (Bill) Reese, since their marriage in 1988. She enjoyed time at her lake home in Lexington, SC with her children and grandchildren. Carolyn will be missed by her husband Bill; daughter Jina Moore and grandchildren Jess and Rees, Columbia, SC; son Steven Moore and wife, Kimberly, grandchildren Jameson and Lorian, Coral Gables, FL; and her chosen daughter Judy Flack and Mike, Lexington, SC, and grandchildren Brian and wife Emily, Tiffany and husband Jason, and Lauren and husband Graham, along with seven great grandchildren.
