He married Stella Beckwith on June 29, 1909 in Vancouver, BC. In 1916, he successfully entered the world of Provincial politics and became an M.L.A for the Liberal party, winning 473 (67.16%) of the votes for his riding. He continued to represent the Liberals, and winning, in the 1920, 1924, 1928 and he lost in the 1933 election.
During this time, he was Speaker of the House in 1921, and in 1922, he was appointed as both the Attorney General and Minister of Labour. He served this dual capacity for the next six years.
It was also during this time (1925-26) that he was elected and served as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon.
Upon his defeat in Provincial politics, Mr Manson return to to his law practice in Vancouver, where in 1933, he was appointed as a Supreme Court Justice. He continue in this position until his retirement in 1961.
