From a book, "Sandusky County of Fremont, Ohio, History" and other letters that Gayetta (Benner) Foxworthy had, the Wolfe Family Records started with a Hans Bernard Wolfe that was aboard the ship, "William and Sarah" that came to America on the 18th of September, 1727. With him was a son, age 13. Also another source has indicated a family story that says he was killed by Indians in Earl Township, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.

From a book, "Pennsylvania German Pioneers, Volume 1, 1727-1775", which contains passenger lists of ships at the Port of Philadelphia. The first ship that gave a documented passenger list of emigrants as arriving in America was the "William and Sarah," with 400 passengers, docking on the 18th of September, 1727. List 1A, shows a Jans Bernard Wolff as the head of a party of 6 to have been given oaths of citizenship. List 1b, shows a Hans Barnhart Wolff as giving an oath of allegiance to the new world.

COMMEMORATIVE BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
The family originated in Germany, and their history is traced to the time of the arrival of the ship "William and Sarah," at Philadelphia, September 18, 1727, with a large company of emigrants from the Palatinate. On this vessel was Hans Bernard Wolf and Hans Jerrick Wolf, or in plain English were John Bernard and John George Wolf. The latter is presumed to have been a son of the former. At that time the "Valley of the Tulpehocken" in northern Berks county was settled by Palatines who came overland from Schoharie, N. Y., where their land titles had been invalidated by the New York authorities. To this Valley, the Wolfs also made their way, and becoming members of the little colony accumulated property with characteristic German thrift and enterprise. John Bernard Wolf died in 1748. His executors were his wife and his son, John George.

From the CD notes: Will B-1-145, Lancaster Co., Pa, dated 2 Nov 1756. It is believed that one daughter married a George Kinder, had three daughters and was deceased by 2 Nov 1756 when Hans Bernard's will stated "and George Kinder deceased his three daughters". Also, it is believed that another daughter married a Jacob Shirske, because the same will stated "and also the children of Jacob Shirske deceased".

In 1727, John Bernard Wolfe, A German from the Palatinate, landed at Philadelphia, and joined a colony of his countrymen on the Tulpehocken Creek in Berks County, Pennsylvania and died there in 1748. One of his grandsons was George Wendell Wolfe who was born in 1740 and served in the Revolutionary War. (Note here the date of 1748 and the date of the Will as being November 2nd, 1756, so would conclude that he, John Bernard Wolfe, must have died shortly after signing the will)
